Harvest to Horizon

Harvest to Horizon:
an exhibition of still lives and landscapes of our region.

Artist Talk October 15, 7-8 pm Doors open at 6 pm.

“Usually my subject is something I see repeatedly and know in different lights… We live in nature and are a part of nature: paint is my preferred means of celebrating nature”. — Lois Dodd

Harvest to Horizon brings together Kate Edwards’ reflections on the landscapes and still life that shape our sense of place. From shifting skies and quiet fields to flowers and vegetables gathered from the harvest, her paintings invite us to pause and notice the beauty in our surroundings.

Edward’s work has visible broad washes and loose blending while bringing so much detail. Her palette leans toward warm, natural hues—earthy greens, soft golds, muted blues—rooting the work in a familiar comforting experience. From floral still life to landscapes, the viewer, while embraced by the art, may recognize familiar locations from the lower Adirondack region.

“Overall, Edwards’ style is painterly in the truest sense: expressive, textured, and guided by an emotional response to her subject rather than rigid precision.”– Belinda Colón, Curator and Director.

A portion of the sales will support Planned Parenthood. There will also be an artist talk on October 15 from 7-8 pm.

Meet the Artist

Kate Edward is a fine artist from Schuylerville, NY. She is the owner of Kettlewell & Edwards frame shop in Saratoga Springs, NY. Her style blends impressionistic softness with careful observation. Her brushwork often leaves visible strokes, creating movement, while her use of layered color builds a sense of atmosphere and depth. Rather than aiming for photorealism, she captures the feeling of a moment—the glow of late light on a horizon, the weight of vegetables gathered from a field, or the delicacy of flowers at rest. Edward’s has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
A portion of the sales of this exhibition will be donated to Planned Parenthood.
